Report:
With the snapper season being in full swing, the reports have been rolling in and there is nothing but great things to say about the 2009 Snapper Season.

The theory is... pick a pier, any pier. There are snapper all over the place including Bellmore Town Dock, Wantagh Park, Seamans Neck Park, John Burns Park, Point-Lookout and Jones Beach Piers. Some Long Island Sound Snapper spots are Manhasset Bay, Roosevelt Park in Oyster Bay and again, any type of pier or dock.

If you are going for the bigger fish, now is the time to bring in a load of snapper and fish them live for bass or weakfish.
