Report:
Last week after we spread my sister's ashes on the southern end of LBI where we spent our summers as kids we drove up to Barnegat Light and took a walk. Witnessed several people in various spots along the Inlet catching blackfish. So I have to give her thanks for today's fishing.
Jason and I arrived about 9:40 this morning. I hadn't even gotten my line in the water when Jason was bringing in his first tog of the day. Had a very good bite for about 2 hours. Once the tide started to slack the bite died off some but the rock bite picked up. We didn't lose a single rig in the first 2 hours and about a dozen in the next 2. Bite picked up again once the tide began to move. We combined for about 25-30 tog with 75-80% being above 14". Biggest was 17.5". Most were about 16". Everything taken on 1/2 green crabs with no legs. All fish were released. Might not of had the numbers as if we were fishing the canal but the size was definitely better than the canal.
