Report:
Arriving @ 12:30PM, I caught 3 bluefish in the 1st hour of fishing. 2 on a 1-1/2oz Gator spoon, and the other on bait (mullet). Somewhat smaller than yesterday's fish -- 23" to 25". Small pods of peanut bunker showed occasionally, but there was a long lull in the bluefish department. Later in the PM, much larger pods of peanut bunker appeared close to the beach. Casting the spoon beyond the peanuts, I was able to get 4 hookups, bringing 3 to the beach. Bigger fish, just like yesterday, 8-to-9#. I tried a peanut bunker on the bait rod, and landed my last fish, another 9 pounder. Even though the peanuts were, at times, close to the beach, the bluefish never pushed them onto the beach. I only saw a few swirls in the close-in peanuts, and these came when I was playing a fish that hit further out.
