    Report:
I fished the surf today at a spot that has been good all week. Sandeels were all over and the bass were all over them. I landed 12 from 24-27 inches and very fat. It was a high tide bite in the A.M. Fish were splashing in the trough and in the swells. Most of my fish came on a Tsunami split tail ahead of an AVA. The AVA had to be heavy enough to make contact with the bottom or you caught nothing. I also took 2 big bluefish and one fluke. At one more stop in another location, I caught five more fluke. I won't burn this spot but there were lots of people fishing there today. Nothing was caught on plugs by anyone. Use anything that resembles a sandeel and keep it close to the bottom.
