Report:
We needed to move around a lot today. Started inshore off the Highlands Bridge, then a mile or 2 NE of there, then Monmouth Beach, Shrewsbury Rocks, and Sea Bright in that order. All jig fishing as the stripers and blues were feeding on sandeels. There would be solid birdplay for a very short time, then it would quickly subside, only to start in another area, sometimes a mile, or more, away. I landed 4 bluefish and 2 short stripers. The Sea Hunter website shows pictures of 13 keeper stripers for about 35 fares. On the way home, Rob looked around the "between-the channels" area that had a large fleet last Saturday. There were 4 private boats trolling in that area, but no birdplay. After checking out te entire area, Rob decided that it was not worth a try, so we headed in, arriving just past the sheduled 2:30PM time.
