Report: If today's fishing was as good as the weather it would have been an exceptional day. I personally, do not like days with clear skies and light winds for bass fishing. Yes, it does make for a beautiful day on the water, but the lack of fish is usually the price we pay. The morning started between the channels where a handful of bass and blues were boated. Rob decided that it wasn't going to happen there so off we went towards the south in search of birds and hopefully striped bass. We found the birds east of the Shrewsbury Rocks and they were working in scattered pods over breaking fish. Unfortunately for us the breaking fish all turned out to be bluefin tuna chasing bait on the surface. We left the tuna and continued inshore from there stopping occasionally on readings. A few fish would be caught during some of the stops, but on a whole most of the fares would end the day with the skunk. Only 3 keeper bass along with a couple dozen or so shorts and bluefish would combine for the entire days catch. I managed 2 bluefish and 2 bass, one of which was a keeper, for my catch today. Tight Lines! TINKNOCKER
