Report:
Started at 11:45AM. 1st stop, South Beach. A few scattered fishermen, throwing lures, and some cormorants diving in close. Landed a 17" striper on a 007jig w/ black tail. When most everybody left, and even the cormorants disappeared, I decided to move up to North Beach and hike to the False Point. Did not ge a hit there, and no one else was fishing the point itself. Moving back to South Beach, I found an accessible flat, and again started throwing the black-tailed jig. The fisherman to my right hooked up, and brought in a small bass. A few casts later, I landed a 16" bass, then a 21" bass, then hooked a fish, that pulled somewhat smaller than 16", before it came unbuttoned. 3 hookups on 3 successive casts, then nothing until quitting shortly after 5PM. 2 other fishermen told me they were not as lucky -- never got a hit while I was getting 3 hits in a row.
