    Report:
My son Cliff, joined me this morning fishing light tackle for fluke on the Navesink. We were greeted with perfect drifting conditions as high tide at the Oceanic bridge was 7:10AM this morning. NW winds and an ebb tide produce a drift that takes you right down the center of the river. Fish were caught on every drift except for the last as the ebbing tide ceased just short of 2:00PM. During the 6 1/2 hours that we fished, we landed in excess of 75 fluke, but only 4 made it into the box. Some areas were better than others and all of the keepers came from one deeper area west of the bridge. We both fished Spro/Shad dart/Gulp combos on very light freshwater outfits with either 10lb or lighter line. The river, although loaded with fluke, is producing fewer keepers each trip and I will now switch to light tackle fishing the mouth of the river. Tight Lines! TINKNOCKER
