Report: Set this trip up over the winter to have some high school buddies go fishing. Fished aboard the Fins On Feathers out of Leonardo State Marina. Fished the Port Monmouth flats on one drop. Good action until the end of the flood tide through the slack with lesser action once the tide turned. I caught 2 stripers, 1 keeper and a short while missing 2 other bites as well as being bit off by 2 bluefish. Once we boxed up our limit of bass we moved over to the flats to the east side of the Ammo pier and made 3 drifts for fluke. I hooked up and was bit off once again by a bluefish almost immediatley. We put 3 keeper fluke up to 22"s on ice while catching & releasing another 3 short fluke. All the stripers came on clams. We watched a bunch of guys trolling and they'd catch 6 bluefish for every striper, seemed as if the bass wanted the clams today.
