Report: I know that in my report from last weekend I mentioned a change in locale due to the river not producing as it should. However, since I was unable to get anyone to go with me today, I thought that I would give the Navesink one last try. Spending a short while in the usual areas with everyone else provided 2 fluke of which one was a keeper. The remainder of the day would be spent fishing away from all of the "Usual" spots and I was amply rewarded. The NE wind coupled with an ebb tide produced a slide, but by casting and retrieving I was able to overcome the poor drifting conditions. Fishing from 7:10AM to 12 noon, I landed 30+ fluke of which 7 were keepers including a 4.5lb fish and my best of the season at 7.0 lbs. The 7lb fish came from a piece of bottom that is probably passed over by many people every day, but no one ever fishes there. All of the fish came on either a 1/2oz Spro/Gulp combo or my Clouser teaser tipped with a 2" Gulp shrimp. Tight Lines! TINKNOCKER
