Report:
You've got to love it when the weatherman is right for a change. I guess even a blind squirrel gets a nut once in awhile. Knowing that today would be a scorcher, Tom & I were out on the water just short of 6:00AM with a plan to not fish past 12:00. A refreshing SW breeze greeted us as we arrived at our destination and although a wind vs. tide condition was present we began catching fluke. I would like to say that we filled a cooler with fluke, but that wasn't the case. The area is paved with short fluke, many just short of the mark, and the action on the flood was as hot as the weather at times. Our only 2 keepers were caught on the same drift around mid-morning. Mine hit a Spro Gulp combo and weighed 4.3lbs on the scale while Tom's weighed in at 3.1lbs and fell to a Gulp/killie combo. As far as the quantity of fish caught,we ended at 12:00 (although when the wind crapped out @ 10:00AM we were seriously thinking about calling it a day)with 60+ fish landed and several dropped. I believe that Tom had the hotter hand today as the fluke just couldn't resist his HOT ORANGE Gulp/Killie combo. Tight Lines! TINKNOCKER
