Report: The fishing was very good off the Red Brick Church in 45 feet of water until the afternoon winds started from the south east. Then, it was a slow pick. However, the fluke far out numbered the sea bass and I suspect that there were (4) limit catches of fluke onboard.
The lesson I learned (again) was to call for a net when the fluke is near the surface. An angler towards the bow opted to swing a 7 pound fluke over the rails. The fluke cleared the lower rail, but bounced off the upper rail and back into the water. The fish would have won the daily pool had it not bounced off the upper rail.
Bucktails tipped with spearing far out fished the dragging bait. The crew of this boat was especially attentive to the needs of the onboard anglers.
