Report:
Tom and I left our slip this morning heading for the channels outside Sandy Hook, as we passed #1 Can at the Point of the Hook a pod of Dolphins were heading into the bay (hope they were not too hungry). Arriving at #7 Sandy Hook Channel near the False Hook, where it is known to hold Sea Robins, we loaded up with the birds for our favorite strip bait. Moving out into SHC at 7:30 AM we drifted out to #6 where I landed my first keeper Fluke @18" just as the tide changed to incoming. Continued on near #10 where I landed my second keeper @ 17½". All this time 2OZ of lead was all that was needed even with a SE wind pushing. Ran down the beach near Gunnison Beach where it was drop and reel Sea Robins and small Fluke. Headed in at noon. That Southeast wind I think killed the keeper bite. Pete
