Water Temperature: 75.3 Water Clarity: Murky Seas: Flat in the morning Weather: Somewhat windy, against an outgoing tide. Fishing_for: Fluke Boat: Foggy Notion captain: .
Report: Our plan this morning was to head into the ocean so that I could field test some new jigs for fluke. Regretfully, no one told the wind gods as most boats, including us, turned around at the inlet.
From east of the railroad bridge, it was nothing but small seabass and snappers. However, since I found a good source for JUMBO killies, we used them west of the #35 bridge.
The jumbo killies must have scared off the snappers and sea bass as we got a mixture of sub-legal fluke plus a few legal fluke including one that was just shy of 6 pounds. Not a bad size for the river. There's a few fluke still in the river, but their numbers have decreased from a few weeks ago.
