Report:
Arrived at Newman Place, Mantoloking somewhat after noon. At first, an occasional small striper caught by another fisherman. A few pods of peanut bunker went by, with nothing chasing them. Then a bigger pod with fish in them. Switching to a Gibbs Danny swimmer, I landed a 27" slot that I kept using my 2nd bonus tag of the season. Next cast a 19" striper, released. Action eventually died in this area, so I decided to move to Brick Beach I. While Charlie reported that movement had been North (from Seaside to Mantoloking), Peanut bunker pods were moving South. Upon arriving at Brick Beach, I saw fishermen spread out. There was some birdplay to the North, so I found a spot. Wading through a shallow pool (low tide), I fished from a sandbar. 2 stripers, 26" & 28" on a 1oz Kroc spoon. 2 stripers 19" & 23" on the Danny, and finally a 22" bluefish also on the Danny. fished until dark.
