This will be a two day report. The water temperature is just hovering at the 46^ mark, which seems to be just barely enough for a few fish to respond. I use blood worms and sand worms at this time of year and the flounder exiting Barnegat Bay have shown some interest also.
Saturday, I fished solo for 5 hours during the flood & ebb and managed 6 short tog along with 2 keeper flounder from 6:00AM 'til 11:00AM.
Today, Nick joined me @6:00AM and on his first fish of the season had our first keeper tog of the day @7:15, not long after I released a 14" tog. The bite was a very slow pick for the remainder of the morning, but by the time we called it a day just short of 12:00 noon we had caught 14 tog and 2 flounder. I managed to add another keeper tog @ 15.50" to the cooler in addition to a nice fat flounder of 15.00". Tight Lines! TINKNOCKER
