With my new work schedule, I'm able to get in a few hours of fishing before I go in. I arrived at The in,Rt alittle before 9 AM and fished the last two hours of the outgoing tide. Upon my arrival I observed a short bass caught (& then released) followed by the same angler missing a fish. Both came on a white shad. I made about two dozen casts with a 6" white storm shad which only yield one bite. I next made a dozen or so casts each (in order) with a crocodile spoon, Rapala X-Rap, hammered gold A47 with a green tail and a Deadly Dick. Only the A47 drew any attention, again with a missed bite. I then switched to a 3 ounce pink bucktail and added a 6" red/white Mr. Waffle plastic tail. Swimming it back slowly off the bottom, I drew 3 bites coming tight on one before losing it after a minute or so. Witnessed 7 fish total caught, the short bass and 4 Taylor size blues in the #3-5 range on my side of the Inlet and 2 blues on the opposite side. Best bait was a white shad on a lead head.
