SUBJECT: # 39939: Mullet

Submitted by Donald (24.158.185.153) from ALABAMA on 10/17/2007 6:08:00 PM

I was hoping someone could help me with some info on how to catch mullet, big ones to eat. Thanks...

from what I hear, never tried it, I guess a red wiggler like worm, like used for bream. I catch them with a cast net though. Careful cleaning them. Their roe are worth more than the fish itself.

Do you use chum when castnetting ?

  3. 10/22/2007 10:08:00 AM Submitted by Gene from GA says the few times I have caught eating size mullet
I could see them on top. Just idle up on them and cast away. I hope others will be of more help, but a lady just told me last week she caught some while using worms as bait.
