Submitted by Dave (24.210.92.177) from OHIO on 2/9/2008 3:27:00 PM

Looking to go out of Oregon-Inlet or Hatteras in the next few months for yellowfin and mahi. When would be best time and can anyone receommned a good 6 pack?

...in May. Always been our rule of thunb.

Steve Garrett on the Gambler, out of Hatteras Harbor, always puts fish in the boat.

I like the Carolinian, big, comfortable and the captain knows how to catch fish. April has always been kind of questionable for getting offshore -- lots of wind! May has always produced a lot of yellowfin.

I think you'll do better for mahi mahi out of Hatteras in May and June. We just never seemed to find the numbers of them out of OI although others do.
