SUBJECT: Long island,ny shark charter Submitted by Capt.Dennis (69.113.107.221) from NEW YORK on Today we had the Kevin Basham party out. We headed out of Moriches for a Shark trip to the 25 fathom fingers s/w of Moriches. we had a tight 4-5' chop going out so it slowed us down a bit. we finally arrived at my spot and set out the chum. no action at all for 3 hours. then I see a fin pop up at the far float. The Shark swims up the chum line and takes the 30' bait. The rod bends in half. i try to set the hook. the fish is off. I check the bait it's intact. i send it right back out and it gets nailed again. i give it 5 seconds and set the hook. The battle was on. Kevin had a blast bringing in a feisty 125 lb. mako. action was slow so he decided to take the fish for the BBQ. water temp 67 clear water.
