SUBJECT: # 40025: Puerto Rico fishing

The last week of Sept I will be in Puerto Rico. If I can afford it I want to go out on a charter. I have found some guide services but would like to hear from folks who have personal experience fishing there. I know that Blue Marlin is at the end of peek season, but should I spend the money to try to get 1 to 5 bites fishing Blues, or fish dolphin, tuna, wahoo?
Then there is the question should I go tarpon fishing? I can Tarpon and Red Fish off the Ga coast if i wanted to.
No if I do go fishing and catch some food fish can I bring it back to the states? How do/can I keep the fish freash til I get home.

I was there last year and went tarpon fishing near the airport for a few hours with a couple of friends. We caught 2 smallish fish, 12 to 15 lbs. Since I never caught one before it was worth it to me. Deep sea fishing, in my boat, used to be my thing when I lived in CA but I can't afford to do it now. We went with Capt Nico. Good guide.
