SUBJECT: # 40144: 9 JUN St Cats Sound Report Submitted by Shawn (76.29.181.219) from GEORGIA on 6/9/2010 9:02:00 PM Great day fishing as summer approaches. 90 degree temps, low winds, and increasing water temps spelled good news for fishing in St Cats Sound. Went out off the Southern end of Ossabaw Island on low tide and saw 20 plus porpoise working schools of fish in the shallows. We nosed the triumph into a couple feet of water and she caught several dozen Menheiden in just a couple throws. With the live well filled to overflowing (to include some freakishly large shrimp!) We went off Ossabaw sand bar and caught more sharks than we really wanted, but landed a nice spanish mackerel in about 8 foot of water off a bobber, and hooked, but didn't land, a couple tarpon...Saw a HUGE shark leap out of the water chasing after some fish in about 50 foot of water...a real spectacle.
