SUBJECT: # 3571: Bail Closing Problems -- Penn Reels

I've seen alot of talk about the bail closing pre-maturely on the Penn spinning reels (specifically the 6500 SS. I'm curious to know if anyone has experienced this problem with any of the Shimano BTR or Diawa Gold Emblem spinning reels?

I have an old 650ss and the bail use to close when casting,OLD PRO ERNIE W told me to bend the bail out,from the center,it works.The reel question is is the board working

Last season my bail closed on me repeatedly. Over the winter I removed the bail and installed a convertion kit. Used the reel on friday and it worked great
