SUBJECT: # 32419: Beaufort, SC fishing

Submitted by Jay (63.254.79.22) from SOUTH CAROLINA on 10/15/2000 3:04:00 PM

I'm planning to do some kayak fishing somewhere around the St. Helena Sound on 10/20. My target is some red drum and trout in the shallows. Where's the best creek to launch and fish?

If going to launch off of St. Helena, go to the end of the road down at Coffin Point. It dead ends into St. Helena and you can get to the flat by the Harbour Island bridge. Or you could park on the side of the road by the bridge and launch there (at high tide.) There is also a boat landing just before the bridge, past the Shrimp Shack, but it would be a long paddle into the sound. Good luck.
