I'm a die-hard trout and bass fisherman on the coast of ga. i hate to say it, but the idea of fly fishing for these fish has me a little interested...
here is my problem....i don't want to sink a ton of money into equipment that i may not use. is there a quality "starter set" available that will not kill me to buy?
thanks for your help and any suggestions for web sites or reading material on fly fishing would be appreciated.

Bill W. (205.188.198.54) from TEXAS says Getting Started
Redington, Sage, Orvis and Cortland have decent 8 wt. outfits at $200. This includes a rod, reel, and line. There are many less expensive outfits out there, but unfortunately, you may get what you pay and you can get real discouraged, real fast, especially with inferior equipment in you hands. Just the $.02 from a still novice flyfisherman (after many years I might add!)

Cap't Ned (205.188.200.38) from . says Fly Fishing Rods That Won't Break the Bank
You may want to try LL Bean's Quest series of rods and reels. I own one and like it very much. The rod has a very nice feel and good action. The rod wil probally only run you about $100-$115. Take a look at all the LL Bean fly rods and find one right for you. The rods are well built and durable.
Good Luck
