This new knot seems to have it all except one problem, does anyone really know how to tie this thing? I have looked in mags, on videos, etc. Is there a website showing how.

Captain Spike (213.122.0.53) from United Kingdom says How to tie the aussie braid or plait
Mark, the aussie braid or plait as it is also known isn't new at all. It's been used by crews in and around Australia for may years. It's easy to tie and very reliable. On my web site http://www.leadertec.com/knots_index.html
you'll find illustrated descriptions of how to tie this and many other useful knots. Good fishing, Spike.

Captain Spike (213.122.61.129) from United Kingdom says Practice, practice and practice.........
Thanks for that. I've seen many illustrations that were so complicated that a rocket scientist couldn't understand them, so I tried to make them simple and easy to follow. The best way to get good though is to take some reasonably heavy mono, say around 50 - 100 lb, and just keep practicing at home until you're confident. The same for rigging dead baits, practice ashore where everything's easy and you've got plenty of time, then it will become easy when you do it for real.
Good fishing
Spike

I found your illustration to be an excellent guide. I still have to practice some more but now I get the basic idea.
