SUBJECT: # 37289: Anyone fishing from an Ocean Kayak Ambush?

Submitted by Eliot (199.174.99.187) from GEORGIA on 4/12/02 2:51:00 PM

I need to pick someones brain about the Ambush:

Stability? Speed and cruising range with Troller or gas power? Capacity(two adults and a kid)? Ride= wet or dry?

At 13' 10" in length and a 44" beam, You may be able to sit two adults and some gear. Don't know where you would seat a kid. I has a second seat arrangement for the second adult. I understand it has scuppers in the bottom, so my guess is that it is what is known as a wet boat. I don't see how two adults could fish out of it at the same time.

I would go to a dealer of the craft and see if you could have a demo ride. Many kayak shops do this sort of thing. Would not by it with out a test cruise. I don't think you will be happy. Three people in a 21' bay boat can get crowded.
