I certainly would not be proud of that. My theory is if as a sportsman you can not eat what you catch fresh, then let them go. I agree with you that this is not sustainable.

15 Wahoo per person per day???? sounds like this should be forwared to the Fish and Game for followup or at least complaint.

Speck-Tacular from ALABAMA says La
I know in LA there is no limit on wahoo and at times of year it is not that difficult to get between 10-20 wahoo a day but typically they are bigger and average 30-60 pounds . I have never heard of 75 in a day around here. I am not sure if any of the gulf states have limits on wahoo.

GrinMachin (67.34.181.135) from FLORIDA says just think
It is the very normal day in the Florida Keys for all the charter boats to bring in 60 Dolphin every day during the spring season. Most of these fish are about 2-10 lbs (almost all about 3lbs). Limit is 10 per person and a sixpack charter boat is allowed 6 persons so 60 is the number they are after. ABSOLUTLY REDICULOUS IN MY WORLD! I like to think the limits are not set as a goal to accomplish every day in numbers, but it appears that that is exactly what the vast majority of people will do if they are allowed to do it.

Watchdawg (63.49.123.111) from VIRGINIA says Federal limits on the way
A management plan for both dolphin and wahoo is currently being written by the regional Councils. It looks like the Atlantic states will come under the law first (next spring soonest), probably followed by the Gulf states a year or two later. The plans will preserve status quo, meaning the 10-fish bag limits for dolphin that some states have will not change (I think it will be a 2 or 5 fish bag limit for wahoo), but one major effect of the plan is to reserve these species for the recreational sector, who have traditionally caught 90% of dolphin and wahoo landed. The plan is good because it sets reasonable limits without being too restrictive and should keep these stocks healthy.

because I tend to run into pretentious persons such as yourself. Here is a quote from one of your own links about Bom Bom,......
"A Private Island.....Built in 1990 the resort offers facilities of the highest standard in a remote and beautiful setting. Twenty five air conditioned guest cottages are set in manicured gardens overlooking the sea. There is a swimming pool, snorkelling and diving equipment and tours of the rain forest or trips to deserted beaches are arranged."
Your words here-> "It's certain that nothing went to waste in as poor a place as that". Gee, guess you didn't read your own link first, aye? Private Island Resort??? Sounds really poor. But I guess you already knew that since you are so much more "worldly" the rest of us trailer trash....hehe!
Sounds like those "poor, starving natives" really ate high on the hog that night, "don't it?". I wonder if those pigs ate their fish guts in one of the air conditioned cottages or the wonderful manicured gardens?
Sit very still, or you might fall off your high horse.

chumhead (68.59.112.142) from FLORIDA says just an observation....
but there is a considerable difference in 5 or 6 and 75. Even if all 4 anglers shown had kept 5 fish, that would only be 20. Bottom line is this, if there is no limit, keep as many as you like, but if the time comes when you are happy just to catch 2 or 3, you can sit back and remember "the good ole' days", chances are they will only be in your memory from that point on.
By the way.....why is it that you only hit 8 or 9? These guys obviously have much better success.....could it be that there are more wahoo there? If they keep up this practice, their 75 fish days will turn into your 5 or 6 fish days, which is the entire reason this was even brought up. If you can't go out and catch 75 fish, you can't argue the point. Fish are more abundant there for a reason, they were not all being caught and kept.....until now. I am not trying to flame you, 5 or 6 fish is totally reasonable, but to defend this type of fishing only so you can take a photo of all the fish at once is a total waste. Feeding the poor natives and farm animals on a private island resort is a rather POOR argument, and at best laughable.
