SUBJECT: # 38910: Looking for a guide (or advice on finding one) – Lower or Middle Keys Feb. 04

Submitted by Magoomus from PENNSYLVANIA on 12/11/03 10:15:00 AM

We rented a house on Ramrod Key for the month of Feb. We’re bringing our puppy so unless I find a good doggie daycare/pet sitter a full day’s fishing is probably out of the question. I’m looking for half day or 6hr trip at this point.

We’d like to catch tarpon, but realize Feb. is a little early for them. We’d be happy with bonefish, snook, permit or almost any hard fighting fish.
I want to arrange the trip that would result in the most fish.

Thanks in advance.
I can be reached at Magoomus@yahoo.com

call the holiday inn marina in marathon to see if capt frank is still there with the "pursuit" . he's a decent guy. i used to fish with his buddy jim in the next slip but i was told he had quit chartering.

Best advice at ramrod is to hire a guide and let him tell what is biting. Feb is too early for tarpon, bones, and no snook. Best bet would be kings, cero, cobia, sails and snapper.
