SUBJECT: # 38917: So I'm Headed to Costa Rica for a month.....

Submitted by Mike (68.162.96.236) from PENNSYLVANIA on 12/17/03 2:37:00 PM

Im so ready for this much needed vacation! Anyway, we'll be staying at assorted places on the pacific side right along the shoreline. Id really like to do some fishing from the surf. What kind of tackle should i bring? I have two 25 pound class combos that i use for stripers. Will these do?
What can i expect once i get down there? Last trip I made was to hawaii and i ended up buying all my gear once i got there. Can i do this in costa rica or is it too remote?

My family and I will probably get a guide for maybe one or two days of offshore fishing. What do you guys reccomend? Are there any particular beaches that you guys think i should try to get to?
Thanks,
Mike

look at CentralAmerica.com . It will give you the names of several boats at each inlet. If you can get some live blue runners and fish them around the rocks it sure would be fun to hook a 10 or 15 pound roosterfish but good luck on a 40-80# with 25# class striper rod.
