SUBJECT: # 39151: Hooking live baitfish.

Submitted by tas/nj/fl (68.46.113.115) from NEW JERSEY on 5/22/04 3:22:00 PM

How do you guys hook live pinfish, blue runners or other live bait? Through the nose or the tail. What are the advantages/disadvantges of each? Also, do you clip their tales?

Thanx again T

Depends on what we are fishing for and how we are fishing

Depends on what you want the bait to do. If you want the bait to go down towards the bottom hook it just ahead of the dorsal. If you want the bait to linger at or around the top, hook it between the tail and the end of the fin.
