Who's using them?? What do you think of them?? I've got a SX5 and MXL6. I think their great. I did a few 50lb class bluefin on the MX loaded with 30lb ande on a 30lb 7ft Lamiglass over the summer. 270 yards of line went to seeing the spool a couple of times, but drags on these reels are fantastic. I had a 25-30lb fat albert outclass the SX in NC last month, but I didn't figure on him eating a 2" long spanish mac spoon. He stripped 220yds of 20lb almost before I could get to the pole.
I'm going to buy another SX and MX and poles to match the one I have. I'm also thinking about their bigger EX reels for a couple of 30-50lb stand up sticks. Anyone using their bigger reels??

Gerry, SFHP from VIRGINIA says I've got two SX's that are seeing a lot of action...
I''ve been using them in the surf filled with 50lb Power Pro. They cast like a rocket and like you said the drags are magnificent.
Got this 31.5 lb striper down Hatteras way last week....

Steve Pifer (24.99.226.74) from GEORGIA says EX 4/0 wide two speed
Hi Dunk, The EX would easily handle 50lb.If you'll be casting I'd look at the LX(got one -love it-caught bunches of 100-125lb striped marlin on 40lb. in East Cape -no problems at all).Last winter in Venice I landed a 90lb YFT(weight at dock scales)from an anchored boat. The fight took about 45 minutes. The EX is spooled with 80lb powerpro and a 100yd 80lb Jinkai topshot(from Basil). The first run took me into the braid, after that the fight stayed on the topshot.Great reel-smmoth drag - I'll be there again Feb 11th hope to see how the reel handles a really big YFT. Thanks,Steve(also thanks for all the past yellowtail snapper info-our family's annual Islamorada trips have been super successful-light line,LOTS of chum and the right location-our catches rival the charters)
