SUBJECT: # 13250: Wellcraft 28, good boat?

Submitted by Brian (207.197.237.172) from VIRGINIA on 12/28/1999 10:50:00 AM

I'm wistfully looking at a circa '86 wellcraft Coastal 28. It's set up with twin Mercruiser 260hp inboards, no hardtop, but has outriggers. No really meaningful electronics. Swim platform and seems to be in fair shape on the inside, with no blisters etc. on the outside/hull. Question is - is this a fundamentally sound fishing platform? is it a well made boat? I know almost nothing of Wellcraft. Any comments would be greatly appreciatted. Oh yeah, I can probably pick it up for under $20k. Thanks fellas'
