SUBJECT: # 27853: power trim for an old 900 merc

I want to install a power trim and tilt on and older merc 900. It is a 78 and less than 20 hrs if that. I am going over all the wiring and the parts that age can affect. what do I need to consider about installing a pt&t for this motor?Thanks again.

Probably the best thing is for you to find a donor engine that's been blown up and remove the stuff you need. Otherwise you're looking at lots and lots of $. Probably all the inline 6's of that era will have the same parts you need. Maybe a dealer can help with the years that fit.
