SUBJECT: # 27946: cam follower kit for merc 100hp lower unit

hello everyone. i am trying to replace the gears in my lower unit and can't figure out how to install the bullet shaped piece, spring and balls (3) into the housing without everything falling apart. the inner gear,race and shim are in. is there a special tool for this? any replies will be helpfull and very much appreciated. thankyou, Bayfishr1/Dave H.
