SUBJECT: # 27947: Winterizing the motors

I have several mercury motors of various hp and age . I always flush them after their use in sea or brackish water. Will these motors(stored on a motor dolly or on the trailered boat transom) Drain out the water that circulates thru the cooling passages after operation? (are they designed not to trap any water that can freeze and damaged the motor?) thanks D.

They drain fine if you make sure that the drive shaft is vertical or beyond.
