Guys, I remember a thread on this board regarding what was called a rich/lean condition. The symptoms of this are that in the hot months my engine (2003 Johnson 150 carbed) starts and runs fine when cold, but then when I turn it off and go to restart it starts, sputters, coughs and conks out. It usually runs after several tries, and if I can push it quickly sometimes I can "power through" the sputtering and it runs fast fine.
Two questions on this. 1) I have a friend with an inboard/outboard with the same symptoms...is it possible to have this on an I/O?? and 2) what is the fix? If I remember you need to set some cylinders a bit richer than others.

Gene from GA says Johnson 60 degree motors
please check out this site, my 98 Johnson 150 seems to run better after this fix, not sure about an i/o.
