SUBJECT: # 27949: 454 with low RPMs

This is a 20ft Jet boat with a 454, super charger, and intercooler. WOT is about 4200 RPM. Is this lower than it should be? Also getting white smoke out of the hydraulic reservoir. There is a breather/heater tube connected from the Valve cover hole to the bottom of the hydraulic pump. Next move is to disconnect this breather tube and see if the white smoke continues from the hydraulic reservoir. Any suggestions?

....should turn at least 5500 rpm maybe more if it's built right. Sounds like it needs fixing.
