SUBJECT: # 27952: Trolling motor battery for a Key Largo 160

Submitted by malone195615232 from DELAWARE on 9/1/2010 8:16:00 AM

I have switched teams! Sold the bass boat and bought a Key Largo 160 center console. I'm mounting a Saltwater 12v trolling motor and wondering where to mount the battery. In my bass boat logic, everything needed to be from the center back since you really wanted bow lift. But now my options are run a pair of 6 awg wires from the bow to the stern and back up to the center console, or simply mount the battery in the forward storage compartment. The biggest difference is the length of wire. It comes down to 24 ft VS less than 4 ft. For loss reasons the bow storage wins. I'd like to know where you guys have mounted yours. Thanks in advance for the help!
