SUBJECT: # 13228: Sleeving Merc Blocks

Submitted by Hoe (209.105.146.49) from NEW YORK on 12/26/1999 2:24:00 PM

I have a 66 ci Merc 800 with one badly scored cylinder. As the other 3 are fine, and the motor is in excellent shape, id like to sleeve the cyl if possible. Has anyone had experinece with this? Who does it, anyone close to NY, and roughly what does it run per hole?

i don't know how bad your cylinder is scored but you may be able to have it bored .030" oversized. a good place to start would be your local machine shop. if they don't do the work themselves they can probably piont you in the right direction. good luck :)
