SUBJECT: # 13232: 245 Aquasport Explorer

Submitted by Steve (152.163.201.58) from CONNECTICUT on 12/26/1999 10:51:00 PM

I'm looking to buy a 1999 245 Aquasport explorer walkaround with a 2000 225hp Jonhson oceanpro for $35000(never seen water), is that a good price? Also what do you think of the Aquasport boats and what do they compare too? What can I expect for reliability, fuel consumption, and speeds; top, crusing, planning? Last but not least, how do you like the OMC-Johnson motors? Thanks Steve

Bought a 225 Explorer with 225 Johnson Ocean Pro in 1998. I have been very pleased with this boat and have had no problems at all. These are heavy boats and require all the power you can afford. With the 225hp mine tops out around 50 mph at wot. With the 245 I would want twin 150's or larger. As far as price is concerned, mine with trailer, hard top, and fully dressed out was $35K. Thats a lot of boat for the money. If you want to ask specific questions, e-mail me.
