Lakensea- I bought a basket-case boat in October - a 20' Eastporter. It's a flat bottomed, soft chined work boat. Since your up in that neck of the woods, have you ever heard of the Eastporter boat co.? Or is Eastporter just a term for a style of boat? I've searched on the net and can't find anything about Eastporter boats. I did see someone advertising a "Pembroke Eastporter" boat for sale down here in Portland last month. Have you ever heard of them?
Thanks,
shoes

There are a bunch of them around here - mostly used for lobstering. Basic round bottom lobster boat, most around 18'. I'm not sure if they're still being made. I used to know who/where they were built. If I come up with any info I'll post it here.

I have a 20' Eastporter also. They went out of business quite some time ago. Check out www.maineboats.net/manfacturers/ for a link to boat manfacturers.

I just bought a 1986 Eastporter 24'. Built in Eastport, Maine by the Passaquoddy Boat Co. Gave it a full face lift and use it as a "picnic type" boat. It has a cabin with a V-berth and a pilothouse with two pedestal chairs and then is open to the stern. Has a 305 cube Chevy I/O. Cruises at about 24 MPH. We think we'll like it. Sold our 38' sailboat. Quite a change! Les
