SUBJECT: # 17229: Looked at the old Seacraft, second try.

Submitted by Billybob (208.221.183.153) from CONNECTICUT on 9/11/2000 10:04:00 AM

I looked at the 1973, 23' C.C. Friday. The guy had it flipped, on blocks.Needs bottom sanded/painted.Hull has recent Awlgrip and looks good.Guy was gonna restore it but did a diesel instead, and now wants to do a bigger one.The floor panels/console/tank were removed and look great.Couldn't inspect the stringers/transom real well, the guy's gonna try to get it flipped before I go back.I did stick a pocket knife in the mounting holes, it was firm but not rock hard - not really sure whats acceptable. The boat had twins on it once, but the last owner hung a 250 Yam on it and had a piece of extrusion mounted across the width of the transom, that was thru bolted to the top engine mount holes, presumably to reduce flex? The guy's gonna give me another look at it before the ad hits the paper,I want to check the transom/stringers real good because if their O.K., the boats a winner, if not I'll pass. Can you give me some instruction on how to check this out? Any guess on a fair price for this hull ? As always, thanks guys.
