SUBJECT: # 17230: Idle Speed Adjustment, Dunk Sal Seahorse Others

Submitted by Mike A (151.198.183.195) from VIRGINIA on 9/11/2000 10:23:00 AM

Well I traded my blown 100hp for a rebuild 1994 Johnson 150 faststrike. Well the new motor runs great and is much quieter and smoother than the old 100. Anyway I cannot figure out how to slow down the idle speed. It is running about 1100 after warming up. I don't see an idle screw like I am used to. On the top of the flywheel are several plastic levers that move with the throttle but I don't know which one controls the idle speed. I hate to start moving things with some clue what I am doing.

Does anyone know how to set the idle speed or is there a web site to get the service manual online. I tried Evinrude and they want to sell me the manual. I hate to spend that kind of money for idle adjustment.

Thanks for your help.
