SUBJECT: # 26013: 1985 Sea Ray Sun Dancer Project - Boat Salvage Yards

Submitted by Mary Lou (24.91.186.213) from MASSACHUSETTS on 9/29/03 8:02:00 PM

Help! We need information leading us to boat salvage yards in MA, RI, ME, or NH. We need port and starboard cabin windows, aft fold away bench, two sided helm bench, etc. for our 1985 Sea Ray Sun Dancer SRV 250. I posted a similar request, but I can't find it, so I guess I didn't post it correctly. Can anyone help with our search? Thanking you in advance, Mary Lou.

Mary Lou, There are a few places in RI that I've had good luck with.

Outside of Wickford RI there is a marine salvage place in an old mall called Wickford marine consignment, next to the post office and a little further down the road down at Quonset point there used to be a boat scrap yard but I haven't been there in a while. That place had a ton of stuff! Also there is another consignment shop outside of Newport at the rotary, kitty corner from west marine but I can't think of the name of that place right now. Had a downstairs full of stuff.

Sounds like it might be a day trip for you but I'd get an early start. Have fun!

Been to all three of the places that you've suggested, and had no luck with the parts we need. In Wickford, we were told they crush the boats. They don't salvage windows or the seating. The one at the rotary in Newport had windows, but not a size we could use, and no bench seats. We did buy another 50' power cable though (not a wasted trip)! The one in Quonset is still there and had tons of things to look at, but nothing we needed or were looking for. Thank you so much for the response. Wishing you calm seas and peaceful coves. Mary Lou

Does anyone have any leads on boat salvage yards in the New England States? We're still looking for SRV 250, 1985 Sea Ray Sundancer windows and seating.
