SUBJECT: # 26657: 95 Yami 115

Submitted by Sak (207.69.139.9) from TEXAS on 6/7/04 5:28:00 PM

What would cause a 95 Yami 115 to miss & run rough to 2400 RPM & then @ 2500 RPM to clear out, jump up 300 to 500 RPM & run right? The motor idles good but just feels a little rough up to 2400. I had a fuel line go bad last year (or so the mechanic said) & the boat hasn't run right since. There is some trash in the fuel system somewhere that we haven't been able to find yet that plugs the fuel flow intermittently, drops WOT by 1000 RPMs, but this seems to be a new problem. Would it be something with the ignition????
Regards,
SAK

If you go over to the Yam web site and click on parts and service, then part catalog that will bring up a new board. Under catalogs click outboards. Pick your year then model and look at a blowup of those carbs. Number 29 are air jets, 22 are the adjustment screws. Somewhere in there is the dirt/gum..

Sounds like the idle circuit air bleeds are clogged. This will overload the engine with fuel. Probably why it's running rough until she starts to pull enough air to handle the fuel.
