SUBJECT: # 27872: Best 24 foot bay boat

Submitted by Roger (209.137.216.59) from KANSAS on 1/16/2008 9:57:00 AM

We are wanting to purchase a new 24 foot bay boat but up in the air as to what brand. Have looked at Skeeter, Champion and Ranger. Does anyone have experience with any of thes boats good or bad. Any info would be greatly appreciated. These are the only ones looked at. If other suggestions we want to hear. Thanks

As you have noticed this board is not visited or posted on very much. I have left bass boats for bay boats due to more room, I feel safer in rough water, it's easier on my 51 year old back, but still let's me fish everything I did in my 20' bass boat. I looked a lot and was leaning toward the 2300 Ranger. I liked the Triton 240 LTS but all that I saw were way too expensive, Then I saw one in N.J. that was heavily discounted so I jumped on it. Again it's a 2005 Triton 240 LTS with a 250 Mercury Verado. it had less than 50 hours on the motor. I put a Minn Kota 101 Rip Tide on the bow. It has more rod storage than the Ranger and I like the styling better. So far I am very happy with it. I did not get the T-top.
