Welcome to my photo collection of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Having recently retired to the villages of Rodanthe/Waves/Salvo on Hatteras Island, I have enjoyed photographing the wildlife, wild flowers, and scenery of the island. I want to share my photos with you, to give you an idea of the diverse wildlife on this barrier island. My primary focus has been on the birdlife found here, but I also include shots of reptiles (snakes, turtles), amphibians (frogs), insects (dragonflies, butterflies), mammals (mink, otter), crustaceans/molluscs (crabs, snails), wildflowers, and scenery.

I have identified the subject of each photo as best I can using identification handbooks and the Internet, and I am open to suggestions by experts if I have mislabeled something. (A note to photographers: I primarily use a Canon Rebel T5 with a Canon EF 100-400 mm lens to get my wildlife shots.)

I hope you enjoy my unique and growing collection of photos. (Check out some of my favorite photos, including the Canada goslings, the Eastern Willets, and any of the dragonflies.) You may contact me at klinnlebing@gmail.com, if you have questions or comments, or if you would like to obtain a print.
